Our Founders
John Peinhardt
John was the founder and president of Directorpoint, a leading B2B SaaS business in the board of directors software market. John led the Company from concept through an 8 figure exit to a strategic buyer. John brings six years of SaaS operating experience, leading his previous company through a period of rapid growth, job creation, and financial success.
Prior to founding Directorpoint, John gained over 10 years of experience managing strategic projects with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and Vantage Associates. During John’s time working with clients and his own teams, John saw a market need for better software solutions in the strategic planning and execution space. Specifically, he wants to fix the breakdown between corporate level strategy and employee level work.
John serves his community by championing initiatives to improve local leadership and literacy. John co-founded the Rotaract Club of Birmingham with Mike, which provides unique leadership development opportunities to young professionals and has become the largest Rotaract Club in the world.
John is a Cum Laude graduate of Birmingham-Southern College with a BS in Business Administration. John was honored by the BBJ as Top 40 Under 40.
Mike Mahon
Prior to Strategypoint, Mike gained 14 years of experience in middle-market private equity and investment banking with New Capital Partners and FHL Capital. During that time, Mike worked on 50+ middle market M&A transactions with an aggregate value over $1 billion. Mike advised John on various strategic initiatives during the growth and sale of Directorpoint.
From his experience, Mike saw the need for better systems to align strategy within an organization – beyond the board and senior management – to improve productivity and success for everyone on the team. Mike saw that deep strategic alignment is rare and extremely valuable. So Mike was excited to build Strategypoint to address the market need.
In the community, Mike has been a serial social entrepreneur. Mike co-founded the Rotaract Club of Birmingham with John, which has become a premier leadership development organization for young professionals in Birmingham. Mike also co-founded and grew the Rotaract Club of Birmingham Foundation and the Friends of Red Mountain Park. Each of these organizations has won numerous local and/or international awards.
Mike holds a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
